Press release
Ryanair to open up four new European destinations from Turku23.02.2012 Ryanair is to join the airlines operating out of Turku by setting up routes to Brussels and London, and for the summer season to Barcelona and Malaga. Ryanair may later add e.g. Germany to its Turku roster. The other airlines currently operating from Turku are Finnair, SAS, Blue1, Flybe, AirBaltic, Turku Air, Norwegian, and Wizz Air.
Efficient flight connections and air traffic development are important to the attractiveness of the whole Turku region and its own development. New passenger traffic connections strengthen the logistical standing of the Turku region in Northern Europe. And the growth in passenger volume contributes to the development of the LogiCity area in Turku which highly efficiently brings together different modes in the transport chain combining air, rail, road and maritime traffic.
The airport area’s logistics connections are developed together by the City of Turku and Finavia. The LogiCity area was developed by Pilot Turku Ltd and its ongoing implementation is currently the responsibility of Turku Municipal Property Corporation.
