Why The Turku region?
Quality of life

Sheltered by the Archipelago Sea

The point where the Aura River flows into the Baltic Sea has been a site of urban settlement for almost 800 years. Compared with larger cities and their surrounding areas, the Turku region of today offers people real quality of life. A congestion-free environment also means plusses that translate into money. For example, real estate and housing costs are significantly lower than in the bigger cities.

The short distances to travel in the region also save time and money. Unspoilt nature is close-by wherever you live here. The Turku Archipelago made up of thousands of islands and islets is a popular area for recreation and has even been considered one of the most beautiful places in the world.

The region hosts a rich supply of culture. The City of Turku is, for example, Finland’s official candidate for the European Capital of Culture in 2011. There is a highly diverse mix of leisure activities available, and an equally broad range of educational options for children and young people. Turku has an international school providing primary and secondary education in English.
